Masjid Lockdown Statement – 5th January 2021

As of the 4th January 2021 the Prime Minister has announced new lockdown measures for England which come into effect as of 5th January 2021. This statement aims to give guidance on how the new lockdown rules effect Norbury Islamic Academy and its services

Suspension of Friday Prayers at the Academy

It is with a deep sense of sadness that we have decided to suspend Friday prayers at Norbury Islamic Academy during this period until further notice. This was a difficult decision but a responsible one. The new Covid variant is spreading faster than the first outbreak. Therefore we have had to act responsibly and reduce the risk of the virus spreading in our community by suspending large congregational prayers such as the Friday prayer. The Academy will still be open for the 5 daily Jamaat prayers *except the Jumu'ah prayer*.
Our priority is safety of our community and we pray that all get through this difficult period safely.

Norbury Islamic Academy Madrasah

There will be no classes at the Academy until further notice. We will be notifying parents and guardians of our students of our new online Madrasah classes starting soon insha'Allah

We thank you for your continued support and will review as necessary as and when government guidelines are announced.

Jazakallah Khair
